I've recently had the opportunity to fish in the Apalachicola Bay area on th Florida panhandle, and I've had some pretty good luck. I was fishing on shore at "the cut" on St George's Island and caught a nice variety of fish including trout, mackerel, sea bass, catfish, bluefish, and assorted small fish. I saw some folks pulling a bunch of flounder out of the sandy area next to the rocks at the cut. I used a variety of live bait, shrimp, and cut bait, and they were hitting on everything I threw out there. The cut on St George's Island is the best onshore fishing I've had during the three vacations I've taken in that area.
